Recently we had a Mazda in for repairs. This was a classic not at fault scenario, the driver was hit by another car on the passenger side with quite some damage.
Ouch.
The car came in on a Wednesday for assessment with RAC.
Before that, the owner came in for a quote and brought in a claim number. We send the quote and images that we took to her and RAC insurance.
We are using their software package for a speedy process, so the assessor can have a look at the photo and the quote. In most cases, RAC sends out an assessor for an on-site inspection to make sure the quote and images match the actual damage from the accident.
We can only start working on the car and order parts once we gain the ‘authority to repair’.
After we secured the authority (on the same day as the assessment in this case) we ordered the parts and started dissembling parts of the car.
As you might have seen, our quotes are separated into different sections, which are:
- Remove and Refit
- Repair and Align
- Paint
- Parts
This shows the different stages of what needs to be done to get the car back on the road. Have a look at all the parts that needed painting and blending for this one:
Left front FENDER – IN + OUT
………………………………………….
Left front DOOR – IN + OUT
………………………………………….
Left rear L/R DOOR – IN + OUT
…………………………………………
Left rear QUARTER PANEL + DOGLEG
…………………………………………………..
Left TURRET RAIL – BLEND
………………………………………………..
Left SILL PANEL – BLEND
The whole job took us 6 working days, we worked efficiently together with a team of experienced panel beaters and spray painters. In the end, the car looked fantastic and we had another happy customer.
We offer a lifetime warranty, so should there ever be any worries with the repair or paintwork, we will simply fix it free of charge!
